The University carried out many works in order to strengthen the material and technical base and train highly qualified specialists in the framework of international programs. In that number, in accordance with the Tempus program, the scientific and educational laboratories “Clean Energy” and “Energy Efficiency in Construction” have been established at the University and equipped with modern equipment, which for the first time in the republic contributed to the preparation of masters in the field of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in construction.

The university organized a training mechanical laboratory by the government of India and Tajikistan, which was envisaged at the official visit of the Founder of the World and National Accord – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon to India (August 2006). This laboratory is equipped with modern machining equipment by the Indian company HMT (I) (Hindustan Machines Tools (International)).

According to the orders of OAKHK “Barki Tochik”, the university conducts research on the topics “Research of the operation mode of a number of Vakhsh and Kairakum power plants” and budgeted custom work on “Development and research of low-power solar energy equipment” and scientific research is continuing in this direction.

The scientific and practical journal “Bulletin of the Tajik Technical University”, which was included in the List of scientific peer-reviewed journals of Russia by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation on December 3, 2010, contributes to the timely publication of scientific articles by postgraduate students and university applicants. The magazine also testifies to the international recognition of scientific articles of scientists of the republic and other states of the world.

During 25 years of independence of the republic in the Tajik Technical University named after Academician MS. Osimi prepared more than 250 candidates of science and 35 doctors of science.

More than 40% of university professors have a scientific degree, among which there are academicians, members of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, international, republican and branch academies.

The University conducts training of scientific and pedagogical staff through postgraduate and doctoral studies in 10 directions and 75 scientific specialties. Currently, in 14 specialties through PhD, the university has the opportunity to train scientific and pedagogical staff.
